Max attended Langley Park School for Boys in Beckenham where he excelled in English & Computing.

After leaving school at 16 years of age, Max began an apprenticeship in Business Administration working at Edmonds Marshall McMahon, a prestigious law firm in the City of London. Here, Max worked alongside experienced lawyers with unmatched expertise in criminal prosecutions, fraud, counterfeit crime, Crypto Crime and more.

Following completion of his apprenticeship, and beginning to find his feet in the world of legal administration, Max began working as a Barristers' Clerk in multiple different Barristers Chambers across London, working with exceptional  junior barristers and Queens Counsel (now Kings Counsel) across Criminal Law, Planning Law, Regulatory Law, Commercial Law, Family Law, Immigration Law and more.

Following an extremely enjoyable period of time working with some exceptional legal minds, Max began working for TM Eye which is founded and staffed by primarily former Metropolitan Police detectives from the Flying Squad, Murder Investigation Team, Regional Crime Squad and more. At TM Eye, Max worked on the Illicit Tobacco Team where he was tasked with investigating allegations of the production, supply and sale of illicit tobacco. Here, he collated statements from witnesses, conducted surveillance, completed interviews with suspects and compiled comprehensive case files to be used in the course of a Private Criminal Prosecution.

After a lengthy recruitment process and vetting, Max joined the Metropolitan Police Service as a uniformed Police Constable having been awarded as the cohort Top Student and he was deployed to work in the Lambeth & Southwark areas of London on the Emergency Response Team where he was responsible for attending emergencies such as murders, serious sexual assaults, road traffic collisions and more. After a significant period of time on the ERT, Max was transferred to work on the Local Investigations Team, later integrated in to the Criminal Investigation Department.

On the CID, Max led Operation Aldrovanda which was a successful proactive Taskforce with the aim of investigating, apprehending and prosecuting organised shoplifters across Lambeth & Southwark. During his time on the CID, Max was nominated for two commendations and received one award - one for courage when faced with an off duty incident, and one for successfully apprehending, prosecuting and convicting a dangerous and prolific offender who had caused over £100,000 of loss to a victim, the offender was charged with 40 offences and convicted of all 40 before receiving a term of imprisonment at Inner London Crown Court.

Having left the police service, Max is now proud to co-own Harris Ellis Consultancy Ltd. Max leads our investigations department and alongside Nick does consultancy in risk management & contingency planning.
